RBS Union St Aberdeen

A listed five storey building in central Aberdeen required the immediate replacement of its heavily corroded cast iron windows and extensive repairs to its stonework. The works, spread over three facades, had to be carried out without affecting either the clients daily activities or the steady flow of customers into the building.
Working closely alongside Historic Scotland, a local steel fabricator, a shot blasting and painting company and one of only two specialist steel window suppliers in the UK, Sturrock Power co-ordinated the phasing and methodology of the extensive restoration of over fifty large windows in the live building, while at all times maintaining the required level of security and safety.
