Sturrock Power to Invest £500k to go Green
After a lengthy and in-depth tender process involving 16 manufacturers, and 81 vehicle models being considered, Sturrock Power has began the process of renewing the company car fleet. This represents a major and significant investment, particularly in the current economic climate, and demonstrates a confidence for the future.
Sturrock Power is currently working towards ISO14001 accreditation. As part of promoting the Company’s greener image, the selection of vehicles offered will enable the company to make significant reductions in our carbon footprint through lower CO2 emissions and improved fuel consumption. For the first time SP have introduced Hybrid cars to the choices available and have become one of the first Company’s in Scotlandto place an order for the new UKbuilt Toyota Auris Hybrid. Hybrid vehicles offer a decrease in CO2 emissions and fuel consumption of up to 50%.
The procurement manager, commented “This level of investment in our fleet not only demonstrates SP’s confidence in the future of the business but also a significant commitment to ensuring our environmental impact is greatly reduced.
